film poster The Punisher

The Poster has maintained content and recognisable colour scheme that allows the audience to familiarise themselves with the link between the poster and the film itself. The colour scheme used is made up of black, white and red. The title of the film is in red, this is more affective in attracting the audience by the uses of a bold colour.

Unlike "The Dark Knight" poster, this poster doesn't have any box office names. This would of helped to attracted a wider audience, allow them to identify themselves with who the cast members are and attract the target audiences who have enjoyed other film which cast members have starred in.

There also isn't any billing block and the director's name used; this would show the audience the quality of the film.

The poster contains the institution logos, but not the release date. The institution logos allow the audience to relate to the trailer. Also that the poster be based on action, fantasy and science fiction film it will have a Marvel or DC institution logo which in turn allows the audience to see that the film presents the comic book series.

The main image on the poster is split into two half's, the first being the hero's logo. In this case sinister skull represents The Punisher. This allows the audience to relate to the character. The skull also shows the audience some of the character's personality. Then there is a smaller image of The Punisher, himself. The white colour is used to create mist; this represents how dark this character can be. This can also be seen in its trailer.
