film poster DareDevil

Unlike the other posters I have analysed, this Poster has maintained the common rooftop background that the audience associated with an action, fantasy and science fiction genre film. The colour scheme is made up dark colours main colour that attract the audience to the poster is red.

The main image is of the four main characters of the film. From the left to right, there is Bullseye, Elektra, Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin. This allows the audience to relate and to familiarise themselves with characters.

Another way in which the audience can familiarise themselves with the characters and the cast members, is through the use of box office names, like Ben Affleck, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Garner. This allows the audience to identify themselves with who the cast members are, also targets audiences who have enjoyed other film which they have starred in, for example if a part of the audience enjoyed other film which Colin Farrell starred in, such as Hart's war in 2002 and Phone booth in 2002, then they would be attracted to DareDevil through see his name.

There is also a billing block and the director’s name used in the same way and shows the audience the quality of the film.

The poster contains the institution logos and the release date. The institution logos allow the audience to relate to the trailer. Also that the poster be based on action, fantasy and science fiction film it will have a Marvel or DC institution logo which in turn allows the audience to see that the film presents the comic book series.
